Original identification (Canadian citizens)
Where to get: Already held; bring originals only
Required: One of: Canadian or foreign passport; Canadian Citizenship Card with photo; Secure Certificate of Indian Status Card (issued on or after December 15, 2009); Ontario Photo Card
Ontario.ca: "original identification that shows your legal name and date of birth" β original documents only, no photocopies.
Original identification (permanent residents)
Where to get: Already held; bring originals only
Required: One of: Permanent Resident (PR) Card; Record of Landing (IMM 1000); Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM 5292) accompanied by a valid passport; Ontario Photo Card
Bring the IMM 5292 together with your passport β the Confirmation of Permanent Residence is not standalone ID at the counter.
Original identification (temporary residents)
Where to get: Already held; bring originals only
Required: One of: Study Permit / Student Authorization (IMM 1442); Work Permit / Employment Authorization (IMM 1442); Visitor Record (IMM 1442); Temporary Resident Permit (IMM 1442); Refugee Status Claim (IMM 1434); Acknowledgement of Intent to Claim Refugee Status (IMM 7703) with photo; Report Pursuant to the Immigration Act (IMM 1442) with photo; Ontario Photo Card
Status documents must be original. Ontario must be your primary place of residence and your presence in Canada must be legal β applicants are required to attest to both at the counter.

Required: Optional study material; not required at the counter
