Main income declaration form
Where to get: Download from impots.gouv.fr or pick up at any Service des Impôts des Particuliers (SIP)
Required: Original, signed, completed in French
Cost: Free
This is the main annual income declaration (déclaration de revenus). Filing this for the first time is the trigger that causes DGFiP to assign your numéro fiscal.
Formulaire n°2042 C
Complementary income annex
Required: Only if you have income types not covered by 2042 (self-employment, certain capital income)
Cost: Free
Optional — attach only if your income situation requires it.
Formulaire n°2047
Foreign-source income annex
Required: If you received income from outside France during the tax year
Cost: Free
Common for new arrivals with prior-year income earned abroad.
Formulaire n°2044
Rental-income annex
Required: If you have French rental income (revenus fonciers)
Cost: Free
Pièce justificative d'identité
Identity document
Required: Passport or national ID card (copy required for non-resident creation flow)
Cost: Free
Non-residents creating their espace particulier (online tax account) submit a copy of this with their état civil and foreign postal address.
Proof of French address
Required: Used to determine which SIP serves your domicile (tax-residency address)
Cost: Free
For non-residents, supply your foreign postal address (adresse postale à l'étranger) instead.
