Clave Única de Registro de Población
CURP (Clave Única de Registro de Población)
Required for: All four routes — the shared identity key across IMSS, ISSSTE, and IMSS-Bienestar systems
Format: 18-character alphanumeric assigned by RENAPO; printable from the federal CURP portal
Foreigners obtain CURP after receiving a residente temporal or residente permanente card; the residency-permit number anchors the issuance.

Foreigners: Passport plus the residente temporal or residente permanente card issued by Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM)
Refugees and asylum-seekers may present a COMAR-issued identity document for IMSS-Bienestar registration.

Purpose: Captures medical history; certain pre-existing conditions may trigger coverage exclusions under the voluntary regime
Acta de matrimonio or acta de concubinato
Required for: Adding a spouse or recognised concubine as familiar derechohabiente under Article 84 LSS
Alternative: Judicial recognition of civil union; concubinato status accredited by cohabitation history per the Article 84 fractions
Constancia de estudios
Required for: Adding a child aged 16-25 as derechohabiente while studying at an SEP-recognised institution
Proof of annual cuota payment
Required for: Voluntario route registration at the subdelegación
Payment channels: IMSS-authorised banks or IMSS Digital portal; receipt presented at trámite
