Document Checklist
Existing OCI Card
Required: Original — for verification at the Indian Mission or FRRO
Cost: Already issued
If the OCI Card is lost or damaged, file a police complaint and submit a copy with the application.
Current and previous passports
Required: Originals plus copies of bio pages — both the new passport and the passport on which OCI was originally issued
Cost: Already issued
For passport re-issuance after completing 20 years of age, all earlier passports issued since the OCI grant must be presented per the MHA guidelines.
Change-supporting documents
Required: Documents matching the service applied for — police report (loss), affidavit (name change), proof of address (address update)
Cost: Free or nominal
The OCI portal lists the exact document checklist for each service category — review the list before paying the fee.
Recent photograph and signature
Required: Recent passport-size colour photograph and a digital signature, both in the formats specified at upload
Cost: Nominal at any photo studio
Per the OCI portal, upload accepts only specific formats and dimensions; resubmit if the system rejects the upload.
