Old/current passport
Required: Original and self-attested copy of first and last pages
Cost: Free
If your passport is lost or damaged, you must file an FIR (First Information Report) at the nearest police station and bring the original FIR copy

Aadhaar card
Required: Original and self-attested copy
Cost: Free
Aadhaar serves as both identity and address proof. If your Aadhaar address doesn't match your current address, update it first (see our Aadhaar update guide)
Address proof (if different from Aadhaar)
Required: Original and self-attested copy (only if Aadhaar address is outdated)
Cost: Free
Accepted documents: utility bill (within 3 months), bank statement, rent agreement, voter ID. Only needed if your Aadhaar doesn't reflect your current address
Recent passport-size photographs (only when applying outside PSK/POPSK)
Required: Not required for applications submitted at Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) or Post Office PSK (POPSK) — biometric photo is captured at Counter B during your visit. Photos are needed only for postal or limited online-only flows; in those cases 2 photos, 3.5cm × 3.5cm, white background, matte finish
Cost: INR 0 (PSK/POPSK) or INR 20-50 (postal-only flows)
Per the MEA Application Form Instruction Booklet (Note 119): photograph is NOT required when submitting at PSK/POPSK. Bring photos only as a backup or if you are using a postal flow
