Required: Original residence permit card
Eligibility window: Per gov.pt: 'Foreign nationals who have a residence permit that is valid or expired less than 6 months ago'
If your permit lapsed more than 6 months ago, renewal is no longer available — you must restart with a new initial application, typically requiring a new D-visa from a Portuguese consulate abroad.

Comprovativo de cumprimento das obrigações fiscais (proof tax payments are up to date)
Required: Where applicable — per gov.pt: 'Proof that your tax payments are up to date, where applicable'
