Must be valid. Cannot apply with an expired Emirates ID
Passport with valid residence visa
Required: Original and copy of passport + visa page

Current foreign driving license
Required: Original (valid, not expired)
Cost: Free
For license conversion only. Must be a full license (not learner/provisional). Bring it even if your country requires a driving test — it may reduce training requirements
Eye test certificate
Where to get: Any RTA-approved optician or medical center
Required: Original, valid for 1 year
Cost: AED 50-100
Available at most optical shops (Al Jaber Optical, Magrabi, etc.) — walk-in, no appointment needed

NOC letter from employer
Where to get: From your employer's HR/PRO department
Required: Original on company letterhead
Cost: Free
Required for employer-sponsored visa holders. Must state your job title, salary, and that the company has no objection to you obtaining a driving license
