Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) for Spouse and Parent in Singapore
Document Checklist
Personal-particulars page of the applicant's passport
Where to get: The applicant's own passport β scan or photograph the bio-data page
Required: Clear PDF or image; English translation if the passport is not in English
Used in every LTVP application β both the MOM-route work-pass-family route and the ICA-route Singapore Citizen / SPR route.
Marriage certificate (spouse applications)
Where to get: Registry of Marriages in the country where the marriage was solemnised; English translation required for non-English documents
Required: Legally married spouses only; common-law spouses use a separate document set
Used for spouse-of-SC, spouse-of-SPR (ICA route) and for legally-married spouse cases routed under work-pass-family (MOM route).
LOC (Common-Law Spouse) Application Form
Common-law marriage documents (where applicable)
Where to get: Marriage certificate from the country of origin; affidavit by both parties notarised in the country of origin; letter from the home-country embassy in Singapore acknowledging the relationship
Required: Common-law spouses sponsored by a work-pass holder or ONE Pass holder β the LOC (Common-Law Spouse) Application Form is filed at go.gov.sg/mom-submit-loc-cls
Common-law marriage is the rare route. Both parties' affidavits and the embassy letter are mandatory; an unnotarised affidavit will not be accepted.
Sponsor's birth certificate (parent applications)
Where to get: The sponsor's own birth-certificate copy showing the parent's name
Required: Parent route only β establishes the parent-child relationship
Used in both populations. MOM-route parent applications additionally require the sponsor to meet the fixed monthly salary threshold for the parent gate.
Step-child or handicapped-child supporting documents (where applicable)
Where to get: Step-child cases: court order on the child's custody and a no-objection letter from the other biological parent. Handicapped-child cases: medical letter or report from a registered medical practitioner. For new applications for children aged 12 and below, a vaccination verification document is also required
Required: Step-child and handicapped-child relationships only
Step-child applicants must be unmarried and under 21; handicapped-child applicants must be unmarried and aged 21 or above.
Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment
Pre-Marriage Long-Term Visit Pass Assessment (PMLA) result (recommended for spouse-of-SC)
Where to get: Free online assessment on the ICA reside portal at ica.gov.sg/reside/pre-marriage-long-term-visit-pass-assessment
Required: Not mandatory, but a completed PMLA compresses the spouse-of-SC processing window from approximately 6 months to approximately 6 weeks
PMLA is offered to foreign spouses (or intending spouses) of Singapore Citizens only β not to SPR sponsors, not to parent applications.
